It’s been 10 years since the current war started, and despite billions of dollars spent, Afghanistan remains one of the poorest countries. While international support has improved the lives of some, nearly half of Afghans live in poverty, subject to intimidation and threats from the warring parties and have no certainty about the future. Despite the Western media’s efforts, the country can’t be reduced to just a battleground. Afghans young and old carry on with their lives, discuss, create, and imagine a better world.
