Women and girls in conflict
Women are affected by conflict as victims, members of armed groups, peace-builders and community leaders and often in a mixtures of all these roles. For a peace to be sustainable and inclusive, women must be empowered to create their own solutions and be at the centre of peace processes and post conflict reconstruction. Women are a powerful force for change and have been central to resolving conflicts from Northern Ireland to Bosnia.
