Disasters
Each year millions of people abandon their homes as a result of disasters. Many lose everything they own. When floods, earthquakes or hurricanes hit, it is always the poorest people who are hit the hardest. Some countries plan well for dealing with disasters and cope fairly well, but when many countries and communities are hit by disaster thousands or even millions of people can be terribly affected.
